Andrea’s birthday
165/365
Hi G.B.E’s love,
Listen to “undignified” by Dunsin Oyekan for this one
Because this is her best song
It’s no secret that I love my friends.
I love, love my friends. One thing I’ve been trying to do recently is show it. To let them know, to hug them when I can, to compliment them when I can.
Andrea is an amazing friend.
I woke up early this morning with plans to do a lot. I had my whole day planned in my mind.
Wake up, change my bedsheet, take my bath, eat, do some work, and that’s it.
Well, nothing went according to plan.
I woke up, talked to God, and then stood up, looked around, and went back to my bed. I doom-scrolled for a while. I finally stood up, washed my plates, and brushed my teeth.
We had made plans to get a gift for Andrea.
Andrea is the birthday girl.
Aliyah had gotten the gift and left it in Adeola’s room. So I went there and we talked a bit. We wrote a letter to keep in the bag and then we went to Andrea’s room.
We got to the door, knocked, and entered the room.
Adeola had the gift. She kept the hand holding it outside while she was partly inside the room.
We sang for her and told her we didn’t have money because we were broke.
Then Adeola brought out the gift.
She screamed and went on and on about how she was just about to get it. We knew; that’s why we got it for her.
She cried and it touched our hearts.
She hugged everyone and we stayed in her room for about an hour.
Andrea had communion on her table. The bread without yeast and the wine.
It has become one of my favourite things to take, with intentionality of course, and under the direction of the Holy Spirit.
I remembered it was there and jumped up.
I asked everyone to gather round for communion.
We read 1 Corinthians 11, sang a hymn, prayed, broke bread, drank wine, prayed again, and then each of us prayed for Aliyah.
By 1pm, we went back to our rooms.
And I continued my bed-rotting, but I was starving.
I quickly went out to get noodles, came back to my room, and continued my episode of Gilmore Girls.
By 5:30pm, we went out.
Me, Andrea, Aliyah, Adeola, and Eyitayo.
Eyitayo is a boy and we love him very much.
We went to eat dinner, courtesy of the birthday girl.
When we got there, we were told the only protein they had was fish.
We told them we would wait. This was around 6pm.
We were told the chicken would be ready in an hour.
We decided to play a game.
Everyone would be asked a question by the birthday girl. The questions would be about herself. We are her friends, so we had to know about her.
If anyone got it wrong, they had to pay money.
Well, I had the least money to pay at the end of the game.
After that, a waiter came to tell us the chicken would not be ready for another hour.
So now we had to wait until about 8pm.
We started another game, the one about undercovers and civilians and all of that.
Our food finally came and we did the jitsu trend.
I was so excited.
We ate and played our game.
And I had the highest score!
By 9pm, we left.
We could barely walk because of how full we were, but we were happy.
Eyitayo went his way to his hostel and we continued our long journey to ours.
We laughed, talked, and enjoyed each other’s company.
We got to our hall, went to Andrea’s room, and she was welcomed with a surprise from her cousin.
We finally went to our rooms and that was it.
I’m just glad Andrea had a good day.
We love you, Andrea.
I love you, Ebo. 🫶🏾
With love, 🫶🏾

We had the best dayyyy!!!
